_{What is Toncoin (TON)?}

Toncoin (TON) is the original cryptocurrency coin of The Open Network (TON)
It is a multi-chain blockchain platform designed to handle the processing of millions of transactions per second.
By focusing on speed, security, and scalability, TON aims to solve traditional blockchain latency issues.
Through dynamic sharding technology and integration with Telegram to make it easy for general users to access

_{Native Blockchain:}

TON is working on its own Layer 1 blockchain called The Open Network.
It consists of one masterchain and workchains. Each chain is divided into shardchains.
Supports Smart contracts via TON Virtual Machine (TVM) and uses dynamic sharding to scale based on load

_{Protokola Konsensus:}

Using Proof-of-Stake (PoS) in conjunction with Byzantine Fault Tolerant (BFT) by TON stake validators
To produce and monitor a block, a 2/3 stake is required for consensus, which is similar to PBFT or Honey Badger BFT.
This mechanism increases security by punishing false validators (slash stake) and increasing speed with a block time of 5 seconds.

_{Founder/Date founded:}

Toncoin was founded by Dr. Nikolai Durov (co-founder of Telegram) in 2018 (whitepaper dated 2021, but plans to start 2017)
The core team is from Telegram, with a high level of networking and cryptography experience.
Makes it technically credible, but has a history of regulatory issues from the SEC in 2019-2020.

TON is implemented in DeFi (e.g. decentralized exchanges, cross-chain bridges),
GameFi (games on Telegram like mini-apps), NFTs and collectibles,
Infrastructure (TON Storage for distributed storage, TON Proxy for anonymity,

It is also used for transaction fees, staking for network security and on-chain governance.

There is 2% inflation per annum from rewards for Validators but there is deflation through the burn stake of the Validators doing the wrong,
storage fees that cause account insolvent to be destroyed and gas payments deducted from message value_‍
